Su's on a metro have different seals on them, I dont know the exact difference but they ARE different to the non turbo ones, but they are blow through anyway.
For suck through its not an issue really, but be careful with those setups as obviously it means fuel going through the turbo, and its VERY easy to get fuel dropout that causes lean running.
For bigger SU carbs, there are 2" ones out there on some of the bigger BL cars, but most of them used to use twin 1.5" or twin 1.75" instead.
