Default There is light at the end of my LONG cossie tunnel at last!

Well its been a long time coming but at last my cossie is slowly getting ready to hit the road once again There have been LOADS of wee hurdles trying to stop me but hopefully we're almost there

I melted a piston last august and it was just as the mot and ins were up so i stuck it in the garage and concentrated on saving for my wedding. Slowly in the back ground i aquired a new bottom end that was basically just run in and set up before the car got written off. A few weeks back i decided to start the ball rolling as my pal Rob wants to use the car for part of his wedding. Now at this point i thought it'd be relatively simple to sort but OMG its been problem after problem.

Bottom end went in ok so that was fine. Then we went to bleed the brakes to move the car back home from the garage. Out of 8 bleed nipples on my AP 4 pots, 2 snapped and one was already missing and blocked We tried to remove the broken nipples and basically they were stuck and the caliper cracked on BOTH nipples so think i need a new one

MEGA MEGA thanks go out to Paul (RS Toughy) who has leant me standard front brake set up to move the car

Next problem was my old head which was under thickness and needing skimmed Eventually i got a head which then needed 3 exhaust stud threads re done and then 1 of the threads holding cam cap down was stripped too the seller covered most of these costs so fair play. I decided then to bite the bullet and get cam seals done and reseat valves. Glad i did as they found a bent valve! Head was supposed to have been pressure tested too Got head back on wed am and thought we'd get car together. When torquing the cam caps up guess what happened? 2 more cam cap threads were stripped! Put it back to head shop who did me a huge favour and fixed them yesterday.

Last night my pal Rob put the head back together and back in the car at last. Most bits and bobs are connected. Just need to do a breather hose, re run oil cooler pipes, set timin, do timin belt, fit new 500 intercooler and rad and we're ready to fire up

At least the engine bay almost looks like it should!

Fingers crossed the car should run this weekend
