Default Timing Problem

Got a problem with the timing / dizzy setting on the RST.

You have to have the dizzy in the completely opposite position to a normal RST to get any power, and then on boost you get pinking. Its definitely not right.

Tried different ecus (both) but didn't change it, the ecu vaccum pipe is completely free and clear. Could it be something to do with the knock sensor? As the valve gear is quite loud (double springs etc), so just wondering if its picking this up. And if so would the knock sensor mess with the timing?

Some bits its got are: collins chip, t2 cam, vernier (3deg advance), boost @ 13/14psi.

Any ideas?
