either way the prob is over time the hose goes hard and brittle and if you cover the hose when it snaps or cracks you won't notice it.
I haven't had a prob with the goodridge braided hose though.

The hose ive used is dry sump oil hose, high temp high pressure from burtons i just wanted to cover it to be sure
