And then when kids went on trips to france with school they all came back with french bangers that did the job properly.

We then progressed onto making gunpowder (salt peter + suplur + carbon powder) which we used to make into pipe bombs with bits of metal tube.

Then TNT (tri nitro toluene) with chemicals nicked from college

My mate used to play around a lot with chemical fuses (we were a level chem students by this point) and some of them were MEGA sensitive, like a loud bang would set them off, they would then just fizz and give off a bit of heat, and that would be enough to set off a more serious fuse that would lead to an actual explosion, so he could make devices that you activated by slamming a door or clapping.

It kind of got a bit out of hand though and the police got involved
