i HATE people who do things like that as it DOES affect your desision and is unfair,,,, lots of people have sad storys about there life,,,, infact i would say everyone could have a sad story from my old man comming home from school at the age of 7 to find his dead dead witha cast iron fireplace on his head to me having a fire,,, the missus mum playing mind games with her 2 hours before she died out of spite not saying she loves her as he didnt agree with her boyfriend ect
we all have a story we can use,,,,, its infair to the people who judge it though as they aint treating you purely based on merit
