yeah it is valve stem seals.

the reason why just incase you dont know and whan to is that when you drive the car then turn off the engine, the oil in the rocker cover is no longer underand pressure or movement, therefore seeps through the stem seals and down the valve guides into the combustion chamber, therefore when you start the engine, all of the oil ontop of the pistons is burnt, you have to fix this as it wont go away and will jsut get worse and costs you more in the long run with having to top up all of the oil again and again.

yes easy to fix if you have the tools to do so.

you need to take off the cylinder head, take out all of the valves and springs, and the stem seals are the rubber tubes that cover ove the stem guides. to take these out you can either cut a slit in them then pull out with pliers.
or you can keep softly squeezing them all round their curcumference with needle nose pliers, and when loose pull them off, but do not damage the valve stem guides. the second approach of using pliers is the safes and easiest in my oponion as i have done it numerous times.

the to replace them you just have to push the nw ones over the guides then press them down with a socket or something of that nautre till they are flush ans secure. the replace all the valves, springs, then the cams, cylinder head.

then time the engine and JOB DONE!!!!
