It does little more than to lean the fuel off @ 58 mph to meet emmissions standards.
If you dont plug it in it MAY generate a fault code in the ecu but will NOT
put it into limp home mode.

Also, If you have the fuel computer fitted, it is used to drive that aswell so if it is
not connected that device will not work.
