Just being stupid, but... did you put new bearings in?

I believe that the ABS pickup is in the wheel bearing and when put in the wrong way can cause the ABS light to illuminate.

By "no output" do you mean that the machine was not registering a value when the wheel was spinning, or that the sensor itself was not working? (if that makes sense)
