To state that the Nothing can beat the Core Duo range at the moment is simply a vauge and misleading statement without stating at what task and under what conditions. Statements such as these are usually made by people who believe benchmarks are valid measurement of performance.
Under certain situations a specific x86 single core processor will even out perform a core duo at certain tasks.
Both are capable processors with different virtues, I own both Core Duo and AMD x2 rigs and respective to my specific requirements..... given the choice to buy only one... it would be the AMD platform.
