Mobil 1 and topped up with slick 50 every 50k.

The Mobil 1 was still changed at the recommended intervals and not more frequent?
Absolutely.
But bear in mind even the 'old' w210 shape had ASST ie a variable
service indicator which when reset shows '9230 miles to next service' but depending on useage,the No of switch on/offs, stop start/motorway driving this does alter slightly.
But typically we'd get 9/11k between oil changes.
