Default engine rebuild for evo6 useing evo 8 engine update 01 /06/07

well id think its time to show you what ive been up to after my engine when pop on a rolling road day 1st run did 432bhp and 389ilft then on 2nd run it let go big time

got the engine out tock quite a bit as the big turbo made it quite bad to take it out in 1 go with the gear box and transfer box on as well note to self leave turbo off when i but the egine back in any way there are 2 hols in the block 1 in the front and 1 in the back any way looks like the rod has give up the ghost heres the pics

well got on with the stip down didnt get as much done as id off like because the gear box dosent want to come off

any way here the pics

head looks ok thank god so if i can get the rest off the block striped along with the evo 5 engine and the evo 8 engine

right guy bit off an update. stripd the damaged egine off every thing now found a bit more dameg to the oil pump and 1 off the balce shafts and oil squarts any body need any paper weights. here some pics off the damage
balnce shaft

oil pump

damage to the crank

damage to the block bore

damge to the oil squater

so then i moved on to the 8 block that is being used for the rebuild this was easy to strip as it just had the crank and balnce shafts and oil pump on so only tock about 30 mins nothing much to see there

just droped this off at the machine shop to be checked over to make sure there is nothing wrong with it

then i crack on with the strip down off the 5 block as i need the oil pick up pipe and the oil baffel plate out off it

how i got it

head off i was told it had det so this is what i found will need a rebore

2 ****ed pistons

close up off the bores

and that was that for yeaterday

picked up my breaks discs from the machine shop all nice and new
jobs that im doing today are front anti roll bar bushes front wishbone bushs
and also mounting the apexi oil pressure gauge in the drivers side air vent oh and if i get time new break pads on the rear still need to find some old engine and gear box mounts to use for my nice new powerflex kit

got my breakes back from machine shope to day all nice and new now
also fitted front antiroll bar bushes bit off a job that wouldent like to do that with the engine in

also i fitted new bushes in front wishbone good job i had access to a press as i saw over 8 ton off pressr on 1 off the bushes
