I've often wondered why they do it that way (obviously cheaper, but seemingly open to abuse), but never had stuff fail to turn up. Electronic stuff has to be signed for.

The one and only time I've had a problem with Play, was when a 4gb memory stick was actually a 2gb one, although the packaging said 4gb - luckily they come in a clear plastic blister pack and noticed before I hacked it open.
