Just use say some yellow paint with a little brush, mark a cam tooth and the casting directly behind it repeat for the other cam and crank pulley then when you release tension if it moves turn it back to the marks simple.
I konw that,and you know that........but our friend don`t sound too experienced and for the price of a pin set it will save him posting the results of a mis time later on...
