Default Our BBQ this weekend (lots of pics!)

Thought I would stick up a few images of our BBQ on the bank holiday weekend.

First of all, deepest apologies to anyone looking at the pics who feels like they need glasses, most of the pictures were taken with no flash on a fairly slow shutter speed that the camera just happened to end up on and no tripod used, so they are blurry as fuck, but you get the idea at least.

Venue for the BBQ was mine and Stu's workshop, specifically the bit circled in this picture:

First to arrive was Stavros (from redline mag) with his latest purchase an S12 1.8 turbo nissan that he wanted the diff welding up on, so we told him to bring it down and we would do it.

Next on the scene was James who wanted me to have a quick look at his calibra to tweak the boost up a bit and have a go at tracking down a bit of a splutter.

Then legendary car snapper Mike Whitestone (AKA Beardy) arrived with family and a go kart.
His Mike giving it a quick test drive before handing it over to his son, who was tearing around in it for most of the night.

After that I kind of lost track as people started arriving pretty hecticly, so here are a few random shots about the place (light levels look different just due to dodgy photography, it wasnt actually taken some at night and some at day like it looks!)

BBQ Itself (made from an oil drum we found lieing around) in full swing:

I comondeered the kart at one point and it was a fantastic bit of fun in the massive expanse of our workshop.

Stavros decided to have a go too.

And promptly broke it, LMAO (chain came off, needed replacing really)

No broken vehicle is complete without Dan from fast ford near it, so he was on the scene in no time to stare pointlessly at it and not fix it, lol

Eventually it was up and running again, although after a bit more of a thrashing the chain decided it had really had enough, at which point mikes 8 year old daughter decided that rather than see her big borther miss out on driving his kart she would push him around in it, thats dedication to your brother that is!

Little Len proving he got that name for a reason, pictured here with Stu mongo and J

With the go kart dead it was FastFord Dan's turn to provide the entertainment so he got stuck into his own take on Tokyo Drift with a spot of indoor drifting in the fast ford drift sierra.

Started off well, properly committed and showing no fear.

But also showing no talent moments later as he totally misjudged it and twatted straight into a pillar arse first.

So some quick adjustments were made, and it was back into action for it:

Dan carried on like that for quite a while, and was most amusing to watch,

the sierra was clearly suffering from the impact though and the boot started to open itself as the catch was no longer holding

After that, we all headed out to Weston for the local car meet, sadly as I was driving at this point I got no pictures, but the important bit was that we discovered my 3 door is quicker than Rob's TME engined Evo, Im making a big deal of that now as I know after its remap next week it will then kick my arse so im making the most of it while I can, lol

Fair play to Rob though for having far more bottle than me on the (private off road reconstruction of for legal reasons) M5 and doing a sustained 160mph+ till he was just a dot in the distance for most folk!

All in all a thoroughly enjoyable evening, and I cant wait for the next one, to which, of course, you are all invited

Thanks to everyone who came along!
