Default Cos engine freshen up/rebuild --> Updated 22-09-2004

Hi all.
Maybe some of you have read my topics about sorts of headgaskets and head bolts. My headgasket had a leak, but when the cilinder head came of, there were pits/holes "eaten" in the cilinderhead )-;
My block/engine now has run about 187.000 km, so maybe it's about time to do something with the engine.

Offcourse there were 2 possibilities, put away the car for a while/long time and save money for a complete new engine, or freshen up this engine to make it last for another 60.000 tot 70.000km, with possible stage2/3 next year. I choose the last option, because I don't want to stop driving the cos for a year or maybe longer.

The following things will be done:
* weld the pits/holes in the cilinderhead and flatten the head afterwards
* make the valveseats deeper, so the valves go 0,2mm deeper into the head
* level the pistons (because the cilinderhead will be thinner)
* replace the pistonrings
* replace the crankshaft-/main- bearings
* new oil filter/oil and coolant
* place a YB1261 headgasket with ARP head bolts
* renew the camshaft belt

I'll keep you updated with pics in this topic (first ones tomorrow).
