Fair enough, thanks for your advice, just wanted to check cos it does say I could take it to the courts if I want.

I more annoyed about the way he went about it, really condescending when I was really polite with him. I genuinely didnt know it was illegal and bought it like that, I know ignorance is no excuse but I could at least have been given a caution. I would have got it changed but now I have to pay £30 and then pay to get new plates anyway
