I always remove my plugs disconnect injectors and coil, drain the oil and change filter then fill with new oil. Then I turn it over in short bursts until the light goes out. Once the light has gone out I then refit plugs and connect up all connections, Then I start it and leave it running for about ten minutes, It is surprising sometimes how much cranking it will take to get the light to go off after it has been standing for six months, You could remove the oil filter and squirt some oil down to the pump if you think it maybe dry, But I would not fire her up until good pressure is there

hope this helps
