That exra length will be fine.

Nothing is guaranteed secure.

For example, if you run the boost guage off it you (wont use aeroquip for that anyway)
The pipe is disconnected for what ever reason, you now have an air flow.
This will fool the map sensor as you now have in effect a bleed valve on it !
