I hope not. I bought the entire lot off a friend who'd broken his FRST and his series 1 ERST. Now the fiesta had lost the will to live and chucked a rod through the block and the series 1 got all gobbled up by tin worm lol.

So briefly, he sold me the EFI head, which looks like it's in gr8 condition ie no wear on lobes or lifters apart from the bent valves on cyl#1, it's inlet etc, a T2 & manifold, his block out of the series 1 (although this is an EFI one), a full FRST wiring loom, OFAB ECU & 165 superchip.
Plus various other bits ie samcos, dumpvalve, radtec intercooler and other goodies.

I already had a T3 on ERST manifold so i've put that on.

Now his series 1 was apparently running somewhere near 250bhp with 5th injector & hybrid turbo etc on this bottom end and i'm assured that it didn't have any probs.

For example the pistons are all very clean with little or no carbon on. The bores are spotless, perfect shine all the way down with no detectable lip where the rings upper reach is.
I know this doesn't rule out the possibilty of worn bearings/shells though but i'd be surprised given the general condition of the rest of it.

I guess I could take the sump off and open a cap or two and check the state of the shells n crank surface.

Ahh well the game continues
