i do see what your saying. When you bid, surely you would want to go see the car BEFORE the auction ends. Thats what an auctions for! When you bid, you BUY, whether you have heard it running or not.

BUT....

If the car was fine, and you had nothing to hide, you should have just started it and let it be. I think personally you let your pride get in the way of the sale.
