I have located the pump by cuttin a hole in my boot floor-Now before anyone has a go at tellin me how stupid that is please understand that there was no way i would have been able to drop the tank..The clips were rusted beyond recognition,The straps would have just fallen apart if i had undone them. So i felt i had little choice as i dont wanna scrap it just yet.
I have found that the pump is not primeing at all (no noise when the key is turned) as yet i have not tested the curcit in the cut off switch and that is because even though i own a multi metre i dont know how to use it (i know ..Dumb ass) and now that i have access to the pump i dont know wheich wires to check as there are 3 going to the block.
I have had my neighbour sugest the problem may be in my ECU as he had a car once that wouldnt start and he traced the problem down to that.
He said this because for some reason my car seemed to skip the limp home mode and just died.
Is this a possibility?
or is he just making me feel worse?
On my pump there is two electrical blocks one white one black as i have said before my pump is shared with the sender. There is also an earth wire which i have cleaned and replaced.
But there was no change.
I have no idea how to test a a relay and to be honest i aint got the money to go spending on all these things that could be wrong.
It's gonna be weeks before i can afford a mechanic to come round just to look at the car.
