Talk about wildly off at a tangent Dojj, But I absolutely agree with you mate that if someone asked for the ins and outs of changing a mondeo head gasket on here then I wouldnt have replied until I had actually done it, when offering advice on basic mechanical tasks, it would be useful if you have done those exact basic mechanical tasks a few times yourself to give detailed info.

Which is why you wont ever see me posting about that stuff generally, as I find mechanics work compeltely mind numbinbly boring TBH and only do it when I have to.

So having a couple of mechanics (even if they understand NOTHING about tuning or how an engine actually works and just spend all day bolting bits on and off etc) on the team would be a good idea I reckon

Basic mechanics, and engine tuning are vastly different tasks.
Just like the average brain surgeon wont bandage up a sore knee anywhere near as quickly as a primary school nurse can.
