If it encourages more of those 5 page technical posts we occassionaly get on here, then it's a a great idea.

Obviously, having a designated title aas a technical advisor might leave some people open to recrimination etc.... Might be worth making sure that any advice given by thesee "qualified" people comes with the warning that it is taken at your own risk - i.e. views of the writer only etc...

Only saying this, as you know how dumb some people can be on the internet, and read only what they want to read.

Would strengthen the forum otherwise though
