but i can iscolate the 2 which i'm interested in as i have the ECU pinout diagram
the MAFF has 4 wires... 2 are different colurs, 2 are brown on the sensor they go:
COLOUR ONE
BROWN
BROWN
COLOUR TWO
on the diagram it shows the order as
COLOUR ONE
BROWN
BROWN
COLOUR TWO
so i'm putting 2 and 2 together and saying that the browns should go in the same order as shown on the diagram
however assumption is the mother of all fuckups
however on examination of this diagram, i think that it is POSSIBLE that i have mis-diagnosed my initial problem, as the wires i was seeing +12v from the ECU from are actually the signal feeds from the sensors... the MAF is powered/earthed externally from the power splice... whilst its un-likely that i was buzzing out the wrong wires, it its possible that my multimeter was playing tricks on me or something...
anyway ive just gone over this wiring diagram peice by peice and i'm comfortable with how it all wires in now

so i should now be able to continuity check all the wires... just gotta get my mate to bring round his PROPER multimeter (a few K worth of equipment that can do anything) as mine's a halfrauds shitty one...
i deffo need to double check before i touch anything...
