My mate got rid of his M3 around a year ago and got one, had it for around 3 months then while cruising at 70 the crank snapped into 4 bits totaly destroying the engine. He has just had it rebuilt and got it back on the road 2 months ago, after fighting with his waranty company for months. In the end they did not pay out as they said it was caused by abuse, after doing some digging around he found there was a problem with the casting of the earlyer 4.2 cranks.Ended up costing him nearly 6K and now he is thinking of selling it as he has no trust in the car.
