Apart from the banks deciding to start charging for a current account now (First Direct are the first to do it, and others will follow), I fully expect to see them binning customers completely if they repeatedly abuse the overdraft facility.

Then other banks will ask if you have ever been refused an account and decline your business too just like insurance companies already do.

So with no bank account and no way to pay Direct Debits etc or even get your wages paid in, the offenders will be well screwed up.

Still, maybe they will be able to get a savings account at the Post Office!!!
