That router is a Pre-N router. This is a standard which is not yet ratified which is why the routers are called Pre and not just N.

The wireless in your laptop is probably a B, G or 108G (TurboG) at best... grab yourself a Pre-N card to go with the rangemax router, you need the WN511B draft-n PC Card
