The RS1600 tie bars are rose jointed as well, but the two tiny M8 bolts holding them and taking all the braking forces have always seemed scary to my eyes.
Only problem I have with them is grinding the bottom ones off on heavy landings
Oh and I have completely snapped 1 alloy cross member in 3 places in competition use, but it immediatly got replaced by another

So it must be beneficial
I did have the S1 corner plates on my Mk4 Escort with bigger rose jointed tension struts but didnt transfer them over to the Mk3 car when I built it
