just out of curiousity does the cam shaft turn the distributer.
when mine knocked out the first thing i check was the spark and there wasnt any so i though no prob its an eletric fault.

this wasnt the case and was the symptons to a much larger story. belt had jumped causing the valves and piston contact and in the process snapping the cam shaft in the centre. result no spark or compression
