its judders a bit, people think your cars a bit shagged if they taking any notice at the time, but when im driving a welded diff car to work and back, even tho its 60miles each way, you only notice it in a bad way for i dunno, 30secs a time, a few secs maybe twice or 3 times on the journey when doing very tight turns very slowly.
and TBH a tight plated diff feels exactly the same, tho if anything they can be worse as then you can get clonking etc too as well as the juddering, depending how they set up.
for me anyhow, the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages, it gets to the point know when i almost cringe when a open or gay light lock viscous diff doesnt properly lock both wheels.
by the sounds of that , it does seem it's like a plated diff when set for full on race use
as for the VC you will be suprised how good the work once they have been uprated , i agree the standard vc isn't much kop , i never rated the standard unit
