if you went from a standard car to a car with a welder, and you wasnt used to the downfalls of modded cars, youd properly hate it, but like all modded car stuff, its a bit of a comprimise.
its judders a bit, people think your cars a bit shagged if they taking any notice at the time, but when im driving a welded diff car to work and back, even tho its 60miles each way, you only notice it in a bad way for i dunno, 30secs a time, a few secs maybe twice or 3 times on the journey when doing very tight turns very slowly.
and TBH a tight plated diff feels exactly the same, tho if anything they can be worse as then you can get clonking etc too as well as the juddering, depending how they set up.
for me anyhow, the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages, it gets to the point now when i almost cringe when a open or gay light lock viscous diff doesnt properly lock both wheels.
a proper hard locking plated one is better, but 50quid tops compared to 700+quid, it makes a lot of monetary sense.
and on the performance side, it beats a open one hands down
