UPDATE,

I haven't touched the exhaust yet but today i carried on stripping the bitumen sound deadener stuff and also had a nasty surprise

Nasty surprise,

I poked a hole in the boot floor to back panel which unfortunately came out underneath right at the side of the offside rear chassis leg



Also found surface rust along the back panel join beneath the seam sealer,





Next removal of sound deadener from boot area,







Last but not least the drivers side rear floor pan

(with free surface rust)
