ur right it will be tracking as long as nothin has suddenly broken underneath, whoever aligns it should soon spot if it has. big toe in will make it very twitchy, and big toe out should cause ur syptoms. if its as bad as u say id be surprised if it registers on the guages before its adjusted. let us know how u get on.
