Barry would start instead of carrick IMO, not on skill just this seasons form.

I'd pick a fairly strong side at the back and midfield, and pack the bench with strikers and keep swapping them, we need to find someone who can do the job, after the world cup farce we cant just rely on taking crocked/out of form players to competitions just on the back of previous merits.

I think every bloke in every pub in the land is an England manager in their head, the back line and midfield will pick itself all day long, its matching the skills of the attacking midfielders to the strengths of the forwards that requires skill.

And its obvious from last nights U21's that psycho can give a good bollocking at half time, this is what we need, the first team are wank in the second half and if we go in at half time losing or 0-0 and playing poorly, Pearce is the sort of bloke to get their arses in gear and come out second half fighting. IMO mclaren is just keeping the seat warm and I cant wait to see Pearce take charge
