Thanks for the info. My last car was a Mk 1 and I had to do the same. The immobiliser was exactly where you described. This one though, does not have the immobiliser fitted in the same location which is the problem...no one seems to know where Fords have hidden it I've looked in the more obvious places: behind the glovebox, under the footwell areas. I'm not too keen on pulling out the dash etc if its not going to be there though.
