what are the ways of improving fuel consumption on a stage 3 saff.

my car is a daily driver and gets used for lots of long and short journeys. i have converted it to closed loop but this has had very little effect on the mpg as i do so many short journeys in it.

i have noticed recently, it can smell a little of fuel on start up, and occasionally puffs out smoke if booted when still warming up (not ragged, just a little boost )

what governs the fuelling on start up? the Co screw is set correct for 0.5% CO at idle when fully warm.

will be changing the thermostat and CTS soon as these need to be spot on for the closed loop to do its job effectively.

any other suggestions, other than walking ??
