fair comment... if your interested have a look at http://www.ubuntu.com/ which is the Linux I generally use, you can download it from there and it runs on the CD without installing if you so wish which will at least allow you to have a look at it.
Linux is not without fault however and the learning curve can be interesting and challenging to say the least... its not for everyone

I generally use it because its stable, free and does not get effected by spyware and viruses which is important to me
