its flaw is that it tries to do everything and lets you install whatever the hell you like (like shonky drivers coded in 10mins by a student) and it's only when all this 3rd party stuff tries to interact with it that it becomes unstable.

vista does go quite a way to try and prevent this, just nowhere near as far as apple

anyway lets not forget one of vista's biggest selling points. it's brought x64 support mainstream. how many people even knew about let alone ran windows XP x64 edition?
