I agree with you totally every Operating system has its good and bad points, My Linux box is super stable and real easy to use but in terms of getting it up and running to this point took an excessive amount of time which most people would not wish to spend.

People simply have a problem with the mac in my opinion because they are used to Windows and for no other reason, however Apples problem from my own perspective is that they controll everything to much including the hardware which restricts the consumers choice greatly... If they opened up the hardware platform to developers im sure the market world grow... its the restrictions and costs involved with OSX ownership which are the problem.

The biggest reason to use any system is it does what you require and many people believe that Vista is an improvement because its new when in reality it offers very little that justifys upgrading imho
