I was thinking about that as I have removed my catch of the small part of the seat in mine for this reason as my boot de- locked!
what I suggest you do is get some tape or a cloth around the lock and get some molegrips/slip jaw pliers and twist the lock anti clockwise and the clip that holds the lock in place will fall off and then you should be able to open it that way(then you will see what I mean in my 1st reply)
