Jealousy, plain and simple
They think "oh if he's got a nice car he can afford to fix it" but if they thought about it, the fact that you drive a cossie probably means you arent loaded at all. with the fortune you pay out to insure them, and all the stuff that goes wrong on them that needs fixing, it's probably quite the opposite
