Could be a fitting issue.

The following procedue MUST be followed to ensure longevity of clutch:

1. Brand new clutch cable fitted (as these stretch with age and so won't disengage the clutch fully, causing the clutch to drag and wear prematurely).
2. Flywheel surface ground (if not, it will have raised hot-spots on that will drag on the clutch and cause same issues as above).
