my bros rs turbo is not starting for some reason. it has a brand new alternator on it and a new battery from halfords fitted aswell.

but yet when you go to start the car it turns over very slowly and then the starter motor gets abit jammed and stuck and the engine is like stuck as if its got no power to turn over the engine.

However everytime it does this whilst we've tried to get it running right in the drive we can jump start it from another car and it starts up instantly.

what seems to be the problem with the car?

any ideas?

when its running it was charging at 12.7 which does seem quite low. We still have the reciept for the battery and its going to be taken back and exchanged tomorrow for a new one as this one we bought on december 15th 06, and a week before this the alternator was fitted aswell.
