Default The Ultimate Zetec Silvertop Cylinder Head (from my fiesta)

If someone is serious about building a 'serious' zetec turbo engine and appreciates all the development that has gone into producing the top half of my engine get in touch as I have decided to sell it (quickly before I decide to change my mind).

The head comes complete with all the valves, springs, buckets etc + the cams. In other words straight off the engine after it done the 178.8mph run. Only diffierence is that it has spent over 2 years at Mountune after I took the engine out where further progression has taken place and it has been improved further more.

I am sure if you ask Ahmed Bayjoo, Mark Shead or Ian Howell they will tell you how good it was when I had it on my GT30 engine + from then on it was worked on even further for 2 years by Mountune's race team. The head started off from a ford casting which was drastically worked on, ported and modified by CNC heads then went to Mountune for further developments with Mountune concluding that they have never seen any other zetec head like it, infact one of the people working there was amazed that it was based on a standard ford cylinder head casting. That’s the bare cylinder head side of things, then there’s the valve train......it's got a custom valve guide conversion carried out by Ian Howell which cost me £400 alone + £250 cnc machining for the followers + the followers that cost me £215 + massive valves with 26.5mm inlet ports and 26mm exhaust ports + the main cnc work that cost me £1150 + the initial head so all in all the head cost me over a couple of grand alone.

The biggest problem that people have with the top half of Zetec Turbo's are the following :

Cylinder head will not flow enough air resulting in huge compressor surge, especially with big turbo's.

Valve train - I have not really seen that many Zetec's in both the States or here rev very easily to 7500rpm let alone 8000rpm+ (everyone gives all the claims in the world but in reality it's totally diffierent) where I was revving to (without any issues may I add) + most of these engines peak power was made very much below the higher end of the rev range due to poorly speced engines anyway!

Cams - People just don't have a clue as to what is not enough or what is too much in terms of duration and lift often resulting in the standard cams being a million times better than the hundreds of pounds they have thrown in there. It really is pretty much the ultimate silvertop zetec head.

Those who know me and have been in my fiesta will know how my last engine drove in terms of powerband, lag and the ability to rev to the sky with no issues what so ever - alot of this was to do with the head.

Also if anyone wants to change from hydrolic to solid lifters I can also provide the components to do this along with brand new cams which are to the same profiles as my old engine however taking into account for the shims for the solid lifters.

Here are some pictures :

I am after around £1250
