Bit of a difference between the two Ran

Why does the block need linering? For £400 I'd seriously be thinking of adding a bit more and getting a new block, or go for the 200 block if it's ok?

Linering is a way of reclaiming a block, but the company has to have had experience of doing it, and preferably on a YB (imo) - liners are common on V8 for example - doesn't mean their method will be ideal for a rapidly heating turbocharged motor...... and a lot of the horror stories from linering are due to poor installation techniques.
