Reverse ramming shouldn't really happen as your taught when the subject vehicle stops suddenly then to expect a reverse ram. Either prepare to reverse yourself or get right up behind its bumper to prevent it from ramming you. I used the latter technique myself last night and worked a treat.
Mind you it was a 1.6 Escort that I was persuing I was quite confident it wasn't going to get away.
