I bought a Canon Rebel XTi whilst in the US (I think it's a 400 over here)

Fantastic camera for what I want it for. I was used to a Canon EOS 888 (35mm), but its ace taking pics, then deleting if it turned out cr@p!

Bought a nice new lens too (17mm - 80mm), with IS - EXCELLENT BUY if you are needing to upgrade from the standard 18-55mm.

I bought the body only as I already had 2 lenses for the 888, but after trying them out, I never reliesed that the digital SLR's reduce the width of the view by 1.6 (For the Canon that is).

Another excellent buy is a tripod. Sounds silly, but for all the weight of them and they allow you to take great indoor shots, without the blurryness, as well as night shots, when your taking long exposures.
