as above really, I may need to change my head gasket soon as I suspect its gone

Obviousley I will have to get the head skimmed but this will raise compression wont it

I dont really understand all the 'techy' stuff so what options have I got, ie. a thicker copper headgasket etc..... It runs 22psi and I believe the pistons in there at the moment are 0.5 oversize.
Also, can you just rasie / lower the compression and keep all the internals that are in there such as the pistons etc.. and what 'other' things should be replaced / altered etc.. ?
I take it the car will need setting up again after the work
any advice is very welcome, car is a s2 erst
