You can not use RAM as a hard disk unless it is always powered as its volitile, this is why when your pc crashes it looses what is stored in ram (not saved), because prior to rebooting power to the ram stops
ive seen lots of industrial pc's which can use an sd card as a harddrive
im very behind the times with pc's,. but i know it can be done
